Gateway Project Milestones
Mid September 2026 –
The M8CUB node achieved official Allstar network registration, marking the gateway's launch as a verified global hub. This foundational step ensures operational stability while facilitating upcoming linking trials and broad-scale network expansion for the community.
A few days after launch –
While we are mostly connected to the Freestar network, our node is capable of connecting to other networks as well. Once I’m happy with them, I’ll publish a set of macros, along with additional DTMF commands, so it’s easier for users to access different links and features.
18th September 2026 – RF Optimization: Hardware Update
During this phase, we installed advanced low-noise amplifiers to boost reception quality amidst urban interference while fine-tuning the CTCSS 94.8 Hz thresholds to prevent unwanted bleed-over. These technical upgrades resulted in a measurable 14% rise in signal clarity for DX traffic.
19th September 2026 – System Health: Uptime Review
The hub has maintained a steady 99.9% uptime following a comprehensive review of our automated redundancy systems. Through the implementation of secondary VoIP routing paths, we have fortified our infrastructure against ISP disruptions, guaranteeing that radio enthusiasts worldwide stay connected even during essential backend maintenance.
20th September 2026 – Antenna Alignment & Coverage Improvement
Our technical team recently corrected a structural misalignment where the main antenna drifted from its vertical axis, causing signal loss and an inefficient radiation pattern. By recalibrating the physical positioning, we achieved signal strength improvements of up to 3 S-points across multiple sectors. This vital correction has vastly broadened our footprint, turning formerly weak signal spots into reliable, crystal-clear communication zones.
Active Node Status
- Node M8CUB is active at 145.2375MHz with CTCSS 94.8Hz. We primarily operate on the Freestar network but maintain cross-network compatibility. Finalized macros and additional DTMF commands will be published soon. Current uptime: 99.9%.
